Promised Pictures

I thought I took so many more than I actually did ... but as we actually finish the project I do plan to add more to this. You'll plainly see what my job was ... just taking pictures!  DH worked his bahookie off and I'm so proud of all of his hard work.

 

I didn't think to take a before picture until hubby had already started painting. As you can see we have a hole in the wall. We found that our house has a lot of problems ... one major one is that the studs seem to be 24 inches apart. Where you think a stud will be, there isn't. While taking off the trim the tool went right through the wall. We found a mess of rat poo ... I know, really gross. It had to have been a while back since it got there. While DH was in Egypt we had one little mouse ... can they poo that much? I have no clue!!!

 

Anyway, the next pic shows the carpet now gone ... thank goodness. My Chihuahua is giving me fits on house breaking. She's 3! She should be past this. We finally came up with a food cut off time of 12 pm, no water part 5pm and no easy access off the bed. She's very spoiled ... she had steps to get on our bed ... not anymore.

 

The frame by the window is where DH granted my 3 year old wish ... I wanted a window bench seat from the moment we purchased the house. We hadn't pained the walls since the last owners moved & according to them "We didn't do a thing to the house" ... they lived here for 2 years ... so the walls were really horrible. DH picked the pain color ... I said bring home a nice light tan that will go with anything. He brought home desert sand ... I swear it's pink in the mornings, white in the afternoon & sand at night. It's crazy!

 

Anyway, the bench isn't done yet. I want to add trim, then make a cushion to sit on. We still have to paint the window sills another coat & all the trim needs to be painted. I guess that is what's on the calendar for this weekend.

WOW ... I never imagined I would have so many request to fill in just a couple of days. It makes such a difference from doing them every morning compared to once every 3 days.

Well, we worked on our bedroom & although it is mostly done, we didn't get it completed. Right before we put the floors in DH says, ya know that window bench you always said would look nice here? How about we build it? So he did & it looks great. Of course the trim still has to go around it & it needs another coat of paint but it looks lovely. Once I get it painted I'm gonna get some foam for the top & find some pretty fabric & cover it. It's gonna be so nice to sit there in the mornings & read with all the natural light. As soon as I upload all my pics I will post it here so you can see how nice it turned out.

Ok, on to todays offers ... I only have 2 to share today cause I didn't have much time to play on the puter this weekend plus I'm still loading my room today.

I'm putting tomorrow's offers out early & probably the weekend ones too. This weekend my hubby & I are going to be painting our bedroom (finally, hasn't been done in the almost 3 years we have lived here), ripping out the carpet (it was nasty when we moved in but much worse now) & laying down hard wood floors(the last room to finally get it). I don't see me having much time to do much of anything but that. I will fill tags today, maybe in the morning tomorrow then the rest Sunday night or Monday morning.
